Stacey Kostell

Stacey KostellStacey Kostell was named Vice President for Enrollment Management at the University of Vermont (UVM) in September 2014. She is a nationally-recognized enrollment leader in higher education admissions and enrollment, serving on multiple national committees and advisory boards. At UVM, reporting to both the president and provost, Kostell is the chief enrollment officer responsible for undergraduate admissions, financial aid, the registrar, retention, international education, enrollment communications, and identifies and implements innovative enrollment strategies in support of UVM’s Strategic Action Plan.

Kostell has worked in admissions and enrollment management at major universities in Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, and Vermont for over 20 years. Before coming to UVM, she served as the Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions at the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign. Over the course of two decades, she has developed a strong record of implementing strategic programs and initiatives. In her work at the University of Vermont she engages and collaborates with colleges, academic departments, and student support offices across campus to coordinate campus-wide efforts related to marketing, new student enrollment, retention, and student success. Since joining the University of Vermont, she has increased the quality and selectivity of the first year class, and increased transfer and international enrollment.

Kostell is a frequent national speaker on admissions and recruitment, enrollment management, and student success. She has served the higher education community in various professional association leadership roles and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Coalition for College Success, the College Board’s Enrollment Leaders Group, and on EAB’s Student Success Collaborative Innovation Council. Kostell holds an undergraduate degree from Indiana State and a graduate degree from Ball State University.
