In order to prepare you for your fall semester, there’s a few things we need you to do before YOUR first day of classes!

Welcome, Catamounts!
We are so excited that you chose UVM to be your university home!
BUYING A COMPUTER
UVM’s not-for-profit UVM TechStore carries computers from Apple and Dell, and a full line of supplies and accessories — from ink to iPads — all at competitive educational pricing. Computers purchased through the UVM TechStore meet University minimum specifications and can be serviced by the on-campus TechTeam.
The UVM TechStore is located on the Third floor of the Davis Center in the UVM Bookstore and is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Stop by, call (802) 656-3067, or email tech.store@uvm.edu.
FINDING / PURCHASING TEXTBOOKS
On August 1st, the UVM Bookstore releases a comprehensive list of all the textbooks required for fall semester classes. Through the Bookstore website you can buy or rent new or used copies of your textbooks, or even download digital versions of the course materials. The Bookstore can either ship your textbooks to your house or have them packaged and ready for you to pick-up at the Bookstore when you arrive on campus. Easy and hassle-free!
VIRTUAL ROOM TOUR
Explore real student rooms with 360 degree photo tours.
UVM Res Life offers an assortment of single, double, and triple-occupancy rooms arranged in corridor, suite, and private-style living. All complexes have study spaces, lounges, and kitchenettes where residents can collaborate on class projects, gather for residential programs, or prepare and share a meal together.
YOUR CAMPUS JOB
Check out Job X, the job board for any on-campus employment offerings at UVM. If you know you'll want a job on campus but don't know where to look, this is the place to start!
APPS FOR SUCCESS
Here are the most important apps to download in order to be prepared for your arrival on campus.
DOWNLOAD THE UVM LIVESAFE APP
With LiveSafe, you’ll have quick access to emergency help, safety and mental health resources, and the ability to text or submit reports anonymously. You can also use the SafeWalk feature (on or off-campus). Download from Apple or Google Play stores or click here to recieve link sent directly to your phone.
CHECK YOUR LAPTOP SPECS
Access to a computer is critical for your success, both in and out of class. All UVM students are required to have a laptop that meets the minimum specifications outlined here. Please note that Chromebooks, iPads and Android Tablets are not capable of being used as your primary computing device. The UVM TechStore sells laptops that meet both college-specific and general University minimum specifications.
