The Grossman School of Business (GSB) Center for Student Success (CSS) held the “Careers in Real Estate” event on March 8, 2023 featuring John ‘13 and George Black, two brothers who are prominent real estate agents with Vermont firm Hickok & Boardman. 

As part of John and George’s discussion, they provided an overview of the real estate market in Vermont, including data points on the history of the market since 2000, as well as marketing and best practices in building a brand, what it’s like to be a business owner, the importance of relationships, and financial tips. Afterwards they opened up to a Q&A session where students asked questions about careers in real estate and also a networking session with refreshments. 

John and George have had incredible success in developing their business and brand. They visited UVM in October, and were amazed by the progress of GSB in integrating experiential learning since John was a student at UVM. He graduated in 2013, majoring in International Business with a concentration in Management. George graduated from Johnson State College in 2009.
