The University of Vermont, Grossman School of Business is proud to welcome two UVM alums, Jim Craige ’89, and David Strine ‘90, back to campus.
Both alums will deliver our annual Hoffman Family Business Lecture titled “From UVM to Wall Street: Navigating Careers in Finance,” Wednesday April 13, 2022, from 12 noon – 1:30 p.m., in the Keller Room, Ifshin Hall.
A native Vermonter, Mr. Craige is a founding partner of Stone Harbor Investment Partners and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. In his role as Co-CIO and Head of Emerging Markets Debt, he heads a team that manages emerging markets and global high yield portfolios for institutions. Prior to Stone Harbor, Mr. Craige served as a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Debt at Citigroup Asset Management, and held similar positions at Salomon Brothers. He began his career at Lehman Brothers in 1989 after graduating from the University of Vermont. Mr Craige is also a member of the Grossman School of Business board of advisors.
Mr. Strine served as an equity hedge fund Portfolio Manager for Catapult Capital Management (2020-21) and Impala Asset Management (2007-2019). Prior to Impala, he was a Senior Managing Director in Equity Research at Bear Stearns, where he led the firm's global airline research group and was ranked as the #1 U.S. airline analyst by Institutional Investor. From 1997 to 1999, he was based in Hong Kong working to develop the firm's emerging market research effort. Prior to Bear Stearns, Mr. Strine practiced law with Wizeman, Hoffman & Walzer in New York. Mr. Strine received a B.A. from the University of Vermont and a J.D. from The American University Washington College of Law. He is also a member of National Ski Patrol.
The Hoffman Family Business Lecture Speaker event will be held on Wednesday, April 13 in the Keller Room, Ifshin Hall beginning 12 noon, is free and open to all.
