April 2022 hit its stride with the 10th edition of our annual Careers in Finance panel. The panel was once again led by James Flicker, CFA '87 and proved to be a big hit with students.

Five successful alumni joined James and were welcomed back to campus, all from the world of finance and investment. The career panel was held in the Keller Room, Ifshin Hall, and followed two seminars;  Wall Street 101: Introduction to Private Equity presented by Bruce Hernandez, while Wall Street 102: M&A Case Studies was presented by James Flicker.

The day culminated with a speed networking session, that enabled every student to have the opportunity to talk and ask career/industry questions with each panelist in a more personal table setting.

Career advice centered around several themes; your career path won't be a straight line, don’t wait to cultivate and build your network, think of it as building a spiderweb, take advantage of opportunities, make your own luck, internships open doors, work hard, pick up the phone and ask for help and never stop networking.

From all of us at the UVM Grossman School of Business, we'd like to thank the panelists for taking the time out of their busy schedules to share their expertise and experiences with our students:
