Counseling Staff

Olivia Sanders (she/her) is a staff counselor at the Center for Health and Wellbeing. She received her BA in Psychology and Gender Studies from Marlboro College, and her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Vermont.

Olivia takes a strength-based and collaborative approach to counseling. She believes that each person is the expert on their life and supports clients in accessing their own unique insights, values, and ways of coping. Her work draws from a variety of approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), anti-oppressive practices, feminist therapy, and holistic developmental frames.

Olivia has extensive experience working with young adults struggling with a wide range of issues including; life transitions, anxiety, sexual health and wellness, relationship issues, trauma, self-harm, and substance use. She strives to co-create an anti-oppressive counseling space for clients who hold identities marginalized within dominant U.S. culture- including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and female-identified clients. Olivia is committed to providing affirming support for all clients and is thoughtful about the diversity of our intersecting identities and lived experiences.
