The University of Vermont hosted the 2026 State Hippology and Quiz Bowl competition on Saturday, April 11, where 4-H'ers put their horse knowledge to the test.

The day started with Hippology, in which youth demonstrate their understanding of equine veterinary and management facts.

Then came the State Horse Quiz Bowl, where 4-H'ers buzz in to answer questions about horse breeds, feed and nutrition, riding styles and more.
