Rustam Sengupta

BIO

Rustam is a passionate serial entrepreneur with a focus on senior care technology, climate change, and renewable energy. As the founder and CEO of Tuktu Care, an on-demand marketplace that connects aging adults with local providers and companions, he leads innovative solutions for better aging in place.

Before Tuktu Care, Rustam worked with SDTC, one of Canada's leading sustainable energy funding organizations, and taught at the University of British Columbia. He also managed research projects for the Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy (ISEP) at Johns Hopkins University.

Rustam serves on the boards of several impactful organizations, including Boond, a fast-growing solar rooftop and microgrid company in India that he founded in 2010, and the EarthON Foundation, a non-profit empowering marginalized communities through last-mile climate interventions. He is also involved with EnAccess Foundation, which funds open-source innovations from Africa, and Emsys Electronics, a high-tech metering enterprise.

As an Executive in Residence at the Foresight Cleantech Accelerator in Vancouver, Rustam mentors entrepreneurs on business modeling, marketing, and fundraising. He has authored books on impact investing and social enterprise models and regularly speaks at public forums and universities, inspiring others to combat climate change and drive innovation.

At home, Rustam enjoys playing with his 10-year-old son and engaging in lively discussions about technologies for aging in place, environmental issues, and sustainability with his wife, who is an academic at the University of California, San Diego.
