BIO
Keith Doyle is a Senior Lecturer in the Grossman School of Business at the University of Vermont. He is passionate about preparing students for careers at the intersection of business and engineering. His goal is to help students develop the analytical, management, and leadership skills needed to bring innovative products and technologies to market.
Prior to joining the Grossman School of Business, Keith spent two years in the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Vermont, where he led the Engineering Management program. He taught undergraduate courses in product development, project management, engineering economics, sustainability, and systems engineering. Originally from Montpelier, Vermont, he returned to his home state to give back through education and help students lead meaningful lives and make a positive impact on the world around them.
Before entering academia, Keith spent more than thirty years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, a Federally Funded Research and Development Center. There, he served in engineering, project management, and executive leadership positions. His career culminated as Assistant Head of the Engineering Division, where he helped lead a multidisciplinary organization of more than five hundred engineers, technicians, and business professionals. In that role, he supported the development of advanced technologies and systems for commercial and national security applications.
Keith remains active in the engineering profession through the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE), where he co-chairs the biennial Optomechanical Engineering Conference. He is a SPIE Fellow and recipient of the SPIE Technology Achievement Award. He has authored more than fifty technical publications, teaches professional engineering short courses, and is the lead author of Integrated Optomechanical Analysis.
Outside of his professional and academic activities, Keith enjoys cycling, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family.
