Areas of expertise

David's interests are based on using operations research (OR) and management science (MS) tools and techniques such as mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and mathematical optimization to assist decision-makers in solving a variety of real-world problems. Specifically, he is interested in issues and problems related to network design, material / traffic routing and flow, and quality-of-service / performance issues.

BIO

Dr. Novak is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at the University of Vermont where he specializes in applying operations research and management science solution methodologies to solve a variety of real-world problems related to network design, performance, and quality-of-service issues. Dr. Novak’s research interests include computer networking and telecommunications, network disruption and performance issues, client/server applications, and decision support systems (DSS). He is also associated with the UVM Transportation Research Center and the Complex Systems Center.
