ACADEMIC AND CAREER ADVISING

The Grossman School of Business (GSB) Center for Student Success (CSS) is committed to providing students with support, access to services, and advising.  Because we value the continued health of every student and all within the GSB community, we offer the prudence and flexibility of remote meetings and appointments.  The Center for Student Success will be operating remotely effective November 29, 2020.

For the remainder of the Fall 2020 semester (until December 11th), we will continue to hold remote drop-ins via MS Teams for academic, career and study abroad advising. Drop-In Hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-12pm and 1pm-3pm. In addition to drop-in hours, students are also encouraged to schedule appointments with CSS Advisors through Navigate (instructions below) or by emailing gsbcss@uvm.edu.

How to Check-In for Drop-Ins with a CSS Advisor

Drop-ins are the most efficient way to connect with a CSS Advisor.

  1. Open the Navigate app on your browser or smartphone. If you don’t have the Navigate app, you can find it here: https://www.uvm.edu/registrar/navigate-students. Note: Mobile & desktop versions are available.
  2. Sign in with your NetID and password. Select ‘Appointments’ and ‘Schedule an Appointment’ (on the bottom of your screen).
  3. Then, make the following selections:
    1. Type of Appointment: Advising
    2. College/School: GSB - Grossman School of Business
    3. Reason for Appointment: Academic Advising with a GSB CSS Advisor (Reasons may also be: Career Advising, Study Abroad, Internal Transfer etc.)
  4. Select the Appointment Location – Grossman School of Business (Remote via MS Teams). Then do not click a staff member, just click Next to be directed to all available drop-in times at that location.
  5. On the next screen, there will be a band at the bottom of the page, under “Other Options.” Select ‘View Drop-In Times’ to view drop in times for this appointment reason, if they’re available.
  6. Now, select the “Drop-in Online” button in order to be added to the queue of the first available advisor at this location. A pop-up screen will appear to note that you have checked in and that the advisor/staff member will contact you about how to begin the appointment.
  7. A member of the CSS Team will call you via MS Teams when it is your time to meet – please be sure the application is open!

If you are experiencing an extenuating circumstance or personal matter and would like to request an in-person meeting, please e-mail GSBCSS@uvm.edu with your request and availability for the week.
