The Center for Student Success at the Grossman School of Business provides academic and career advising to business school students.

We're excited to have you as part of the Grossman School of Business community! During your time with us, the Center for Student Success (CSS) will work with you to unlock your potential and learn the business path that is right for you. Through our network of faculty, students, and alumni, we are here to support your journey, assist with degree completion, and guide your professional development. 

What We Do

The CSS team is a great resource for when you arrive to campus. We assist students at all stages—from declaring a concentration or planning a schedule, to connecting with UVM Career Services and networking with alumni. Our services include: 

  • Personal academic advising in the first and second year for all students (faculty advisors assigned in third year) 
  • Career and professional development opportunities starting in the first year 
  • Connections to student organizations to help with adjustment to college life 
  • Dedicated study abroad advisor in the Center for Student Success

How to Schedule an Appointment
Body
  • Download the Navigate app (note: mobile and desktop versions are available)
  • Open the app on your browser or smartphone.
  • Sign in with your NetID and password. Select "Appointments" and "Schedule an Appointment" (on the bottom of your screen).
  • Make the following selections:
    • What type of appointment would you like to schedule: Advising
    • Select a Reason for Appointment: Academic Advising with a GSB CSS Advisor
    • Location: GSB - Grossman School of Business
    • Staff: Select your Advisor 
    • How would you like to meet? Choose In-person or Remote (via Microsoft Teams)
  • Select an available time and confirm the appointment details. You may need to scroll to future weeks to locate a time that is available. Choose how you want to receive reminders about the meeting. Space provided to enter any details that you want the advisor to know about prior to the appointment time (e.g., specific questions, topics of discussion, etc.).
How to Check In for your Appointment

  • Open the app on your browser or smartphone.
  • Sign in with your NetID and password. Select "Appointments." The "My Appointments" screen will open.
  • Click "View Details" of the appointment you are checking in for.
  • If the appointment details are correct, click the blue "Check in Online" button. A pop-up screen will appear and state that you have checked in.
  • At your appointment time, your advisor will contact you via Microsft Teams to start your appointment. Be sure the application is open.

Academic Advising Drop-Ins:
  • Mondays 1 - 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesdays - Thursdays 10:30 a.m. - noon and 1 - 3:30 p.m.
Study Abroad Drop-Ins:
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 1 - 3:30 p.m
Career Drop-Ins
  • Tuesdays 1:30 - 3 p.m.
  • Thursdays 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
