Employee Commuter Benefit Programs

UVM partners with the Chittenden Area Transportation Management Association (CATMA) to offer employees a suite of commuter benefits. CATMA is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to strategically develop and improve transportation and mobility options including goals of promoting accessibility and "walkability". The benefits of commuting by foot, bike, bus, and carpool include saving money, reducing stress, enhancing health, making friends and lessening our impact on the environment. UVM strongly encourages its employees to take advantage of the commuter programs and services offered through CATMA, including:

  • Personalized Commuting Assistance: New to the area, moving, or just have questions about your commuting options to UVM? CATMA offers personalized commuting assistance and can be reached at info@catmavt.org or 802-881-0283.

Walk and Bike Commuter Benefits and Resources

Body

Reward your heart, mind and pocket by biking or walking to and from work.  Simply log the days you bike or walk and you’ll receive your choice of a $15 gift card reward to places like REI, DoorDash, Shaws (Albertsons), and Target. For more information and to register, please visit CATMA’s Bike/Walk Rewards Program Page.

Parking & Transportation Services oversees the bike safety programs and regulations on campus. If you bike to campus, we recommend that you register your bicycle. This allows us to inform you of projects and activities that may significantly affect bike commutes as well as provide access to restricted on-campus bicycle parking locations.  Registering your bicycle also allows University Police Services to contact owners of recovered lost or stolen bicycles.

Looking for a bike fix-it station or shower near your office or classroom?  Want to bike, walk or run to UVM but worried about getting sweaty on the way? Or have a need for a quick tune-up? No problem! UVM employees have access to free showers at several locations on campus, as well as four fix-it locations, including our Bicycle Education Co-op. Find these locations on our campus map.
