Connecting to Cisco AnyConnect VPN using MFA

As of May 7th, 2018, Cisco AnyConnect will require Duo multi-factor authentication to establish a connection. This guide will assist with the Duo login process for Cisco AnyConnect VPN. If you do not already have a device enrolled in Duo MFA, please see this guide.

  1. Open the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client. Under “Ready to Connect”, enter “https://sslvpn.uvm.edu/duo“, then click “Connect
    modify-server-to-sslvpn.uvm.edu/duo
  2. The following dialog box will appear. Note that there are three fields: NetID, Password, and NetID Password.
    Enter your  NetID and NetID Password into the corresponding fields, then move on to step 3.
  3. The Password field is where you will specify a Multi-Factor Authentication method. Click your preferred MFA method below for instructions.

  4. You should now have successfully logged into the VPN Client
