BIO
Vegas is a Ph.D. student in Dr. Mariano Rodriguez-Cabal’s Biological Invasion Group, where he studies how ecological communities respond to co-occurring global change drivers. He takes a question-driven approach to research, allowing key ecological questions to guide his focus and selecting the species or systems best suited to address them. As a community ecologist, Vegas is particularly interested in the indirect effects of plant and animal invasions. However, his broader research interests span avian ecology, forest ecology, and quantitative ecology.
Beyond his research, Vegas enjoys hiking, birding, fly fishing, and surfing.
