BIO
Sophie is a Ph.D. student at the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. Her research uses transdisciplinary methods to study the impact of land management decisions, primarily by farmers, landholders, and policy makers, on plant communities and local ecosystems, working at the intersection of biodiversity loss and climate change. Sophie received a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Yale University in 2021. She was a Fulbright Research Grantee in Ecuador from 2022-2023, co-founded a Jewish farm and agroforestry project in Illinois, and has previously spent time researching carbon removal using enhanced rock weathering. At UVM, Sophie is part of the Biological Invasions Group.
