Mattison works with a team of adaptation specialists at UVM and the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science. He focuses on science delivery to support the integration of climate adaptive management into land-use planning and decision-making across the Northeast region and the broader Northwoods. He provides technical assistance through consultations and trainings to land managers and stewards who are responding to the challenges of climate change in their work. Using his background in forest health monitoring, Mattison has focused on projects that put the interaction of climate change with pests and pathogens at the forefront of management considerations.
