BIO
Maggie's research interests lie at the intersection of field ecology, conservation, and genetics. Maggie grew up in Frederick, Maryland. They received their B.A. in Biological Sciences at Smith College then got their M.S. in Interdisciplinary Marine and Estuarine Sciences at San Francisco State University while also serving as a Graduate Research Fellow at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. At UVM, Maggie will be using environmental DNA surveys to understand the distribution and habitat preferences of select stream-inhabiting fish species of greatest conservation need throughout the Lake Champlain Basin.
