After two years of virtual events, the Grossman School of Business was excited to host its annual Accounting Career Fair last week in Ifshin Hall. Representatives from 16 accounting employers, including international, regional, and local accounting firms, met with a record-high 173 students.

Both employers and students were incredibly positive about the event.  Grossman junior Patrick Kowalsky attended and commented, “I had some great talks with a number of firms and will be applying for internships this weekend.  Overall, the Career Fair was a success in my mind!”

Sean Riley, a partner with PwC and chair of UVM’s Accounting Advisory Board, stated, "I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and depth of the candidates I met at the Career Fair. It is clear to me that UVM is doing an outstanding job in preparing the next generation of professionals for the business world."

UVM Accounting professor and Master of Accountancy Program Director, Suzanne Lowensohn, noted, “It was inspiring to see so many students at all levels – from first years to graduate students – interacting with our alumni and firm leaders.  There was a great deal of energy in the Keller Room on the part of the employers and the students.  What an exciting way to start off the semester and the recruiting season!”

Recruiting for accounting internships and full-time positions typically takes place in September, necessitating a career fair early in the fall semester.  Firms in attendance included:
