Commencement

The Larner College of Medicine ceremony celebrates the completion of medical student training with graduates receiving their doctoral hoods and diplomas as they cross the stage at the Ira Allen Chapel.

Information for Members of the Class of 2025

Body

Regalia

Regalia was purchased for the Class of 2025 by the UVM Larner Alumni Association and will be distributed in-person in front of the Medical Communications Office in the Given Courtyard (directly across from the Office of Medical Education) on the following dates and times:

  • Monday, May 12, 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.
  • Tuesday, May 13, 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.
  • Wednesday, May 14, 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.
  • Thursday, May 15, 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.

If you are unable to pick up your regalia during these times, you may have a classmate pick up. Please contact Liz Dohrman with questions.

ADA Accommodations

Graduates with accommodations needs, including accessible parking should contact Liz Dohrman by May 6. Accessible parking and accommodations for guests of graduates should be submitted by completing this request form.

Guest Hooders

The deadline for graduates to request a guest hooder has passed. Please contact Liz Dohrman with questions.

Arrival Time/Location

Graduates should arrive at 2:00 P.M., using the back entrance to the Ira Allen Chapel, accessed from the Votey Parking lot. Student line-up will take place in the Billings Lecture Hall. 

Parking & Shuttle Service

Parking for graduates and guests will be available in the Jeffords and Given parking lots. A shuttle will be available to bring graduates and guests to the Ira Allen Chapel, picking up at the Davis South campus shuttle stop. The shuttle will also bring guests to the parking area and the Davis Center for the reception after the ceremony. Tickets

Tickets are required for all guests to attend the graduation ceremony. Each graduate is guaranteed up to six tickets, but may request additional tickets via the wait list. Wait list tickets are not guaranteed. Tickets were requested for guests by the graduate via a link shared via email on March 28. The deadline to request tickets is May 1. Wait list request will be reviewed and available tickets will be released via email on May 2.  Ticket FAQ's (PDF)

Livestream

The ceremony will be livestreamed and recorded. A link to the ceremony livestream will be shared on the main commencement webpage in May.

Reception

Graduates and guests are invited to a reception with light refreshments immediately following the ceremony in the Grand Maple Ballroom on the 4th floor of the Davis Center. The Davis Center is a short walk from the chapel or guests may take a shuttle to the reception. 

Photos

GradImages will photograph each graduate when they cross the stage at their college/school ceremonies. Students are encouraged to pre-register for easy tracking of their proofs and to order prints. On the registration page, search "UVM" or "University of Vermont", select the Larner College of Medicine and follow the prompts. 

Photos of the ceremony will also be available in a photo gallery. Please allow a minimum of 1 - 2 weeks for images to be uploaded. The gallery also includes images from other milestone events for the Class of 2025. Images are available to download.

Information for Guests of the Class of 2025

Body

Tickets

Tickets are required to attend the Larner College of Medicine Ceremony. Graduating students receive six guest tickets for the ceremony, with the opportunity to request additional tickets via a waitlist. Waitlist tickets are not guaranteed. Graduates received a link to request tickets via email in March.
