Darcy Pientka has been a member of higher education institutions for over 25 years and has grown in the technology field by doing everything from basic networking and supporting the help desk operations to serving in various leadership roles from assistant technology director for multiple institutions to Information Security Officer. With a Mathematics degree from UVM, she has a basis in problem-solving that has been applicable throughout her career. For 20 years, she played an integral role at UVM focused on research, administrative, and educational support at the Larner College of Medicine at UVM, and is continuing the valuable work of the institution as the Deputy CIO.
