File and printing services on the Novell NetWare server Gemini are once again online and available, as is the Banner Student Information System software served from Gemini. Both home directories (H drive) and shared directories (S drive) are online as usual. FTP services will be activated Monday morning. We know of a small number of remaining issues, but if you encounter problems using Gemini, Computing and Information Technology wants to know about them. Consultants at the Help Line, 6-2604, will be prepared to escalate reported problems to senior staff. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your patience as system administrators have worked to restore these vital services. I know that this has caused significant disruption for many people, and I think it says something very good about this University that, without exception, everyone I've been in contact with during this period has been understanding, resourceful, and encouraging. Thanks also go to Greg MacKinnon and Geoff Duke, who, along with Phil Plourde, have worked tirelessly since Thursday afternoon to recover Gemini services. -Dean Williams
