ESET, our University contracted vendor for Windows computer antivirus, released a virus signature database file for NOD32 that resulted in problems on several Windows computers. A corrected virus signature file was later released by ESET.
Unfortunately, before the corrected signature file was released several computers were reportedly affected by the previously released signature, resulting in unresponsive computers. If a computer you use is believed to be affected by this morning's virus signature file issue and you are unable to successfully use that computer as a result please contact the UVM Computing Helpline, or your designated IT support staff if applicable, for further instructions on how to resolve this problem.
Thank you, and our sincerest apologies for the problem.
