Early this morning, five computers on the UVM network were infected by the W32.SQLExp worm. The worm caused a denial of service attack that disrupted services on the network.
CIT Network Services has worked overnight, and as of about 1:45 this afternoon has contained the effects of the SQL worm. Access-lists
have been applied to all relevant interfaces to prevent any additional
bots from affecting the network.
Connectivity appears to restored to normal.
