Wednesday morning at 7:30 AM, Trinity campus will join the other UVM residence halls in requiring registration for all computers connected to the UVM network and Internet. To register, go on the Web to:

http://netreg.uvm.edu/

Follow the instructions on the Network Registration screens to register your computer.

Computers (and other devices connected to the network) that are not registered will be able to use some UVM Web sites, but will not be able to visit most non-UVM sites. Other network services, such as chat, IM, and email (other than webmail.uvm.edu) are available only to registered computers.

What is NetReg?

Network Registration is a once-a-semester process that helps you keep your computer up-to-date and protected against hackers and viruses. NetReg scans for common security problems, and does not allow completion of the registration process until any serious vulnerabilities are corrected. For more information, please see the Back-to-School issue of the UVM Information Technology Newsletter.
