Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Modernization Project
UVM’s IT Strategic Imperatives (PDF) include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Modernization as one of the campus priorities to support and improve administrative processes. As a result, we have engaged Peak Performance Technologies (PDF), to review how we are currently using our enterprise applications, including but not limited to Axiom, Banner, Kronos, PeopleAdmin, PeopleSoft, and others, along with the technologies that enable them in ways like integrations, analytics and reporting. Peak Performance Technologies ("Peak") will also examine how these applications are used to manage campus operations and help us identify opportunities for modernization. This work will occur over the next several months and will start with a series of information-gathering workshops led by Rob Cardelli, the President of Peak. These workshops will include invited stakeholders from across campus and will gather pertinent information related to the use of technology, workflows, business processes, and reporting mechanisms in departments.
This methodology is a data-driven way for us to identify opportunities to transform our institution to better serve our prospective students, current students, faculty, researchers, staff, alumni, and our community. After Peak has compiled the data and insights, they will make recommendations that include industry best practices, peer benchmarking examples and recommendations, and roadmaps to consider. As co-sponsors of this project, the Provost, General Counsel, Vice President for Research, Vice President for Finance and Administration, and I, look forward to the outcome of this review, which is intended to inform how we go about modernizing our ERPs.
