Surplus Computer Equipment (Phase 1)

ETS is piloting a new, centralized process for surplus, refurbishment (when appropriate), and recycling of University-owned computer equipment. The goals are:

  1. Reduce stockpiles of unmanaged devices across campus

  2. Ensure secure data stewardship and sanitizing

  3. Provide consistent tracking and documentation suitable for audit, compliance, and reporting.

Current Status

Phase 1 is in trials now. During this pilot period, ETS is internally testing the process with a limited audience. The information listed below is being provided to help prepare Departments and Colleges for what to expect. Updates will be shared as the pilot program matures and Phase 2 approaches.
