Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF)

The Humanities Center Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF) program supports undergraduate scholarship and creative projects during the summer months.

Administered through the Office of Fellowships, Opportunities, and Undergraduate Research (FOUR), the Humanities Center will provide two awards, one for a humanities-related project and one for an arts-related project. Each fellowship carries a $4,500 stipend (rather than paying a wage) and students may request up to $500 for research expenses. In addition, the faculty supervisor of each awardee will receive $500 in professional development funds in recognition of their expected supervision of the project over the summer months.
