DownloadableIndexMethods1_Table The purpose of this dataset to calculate scores for the Vulnerable Vermonters Index from the raw inputs. This file contains the final scores for the Vulnerable Vermonters Index by town, and calculations for each individual indicator. It also provides the input data used to calculate each indicator score.
The Vulnerable Vermonters Index is a representation of social vulnerability given inputs from at least one of four environmental justice screening tools: EJScreen (EPA, 2024), the Climate Economic Justice Screening Tool (White House, 2024), the Vermont Environmental Disparities Index (Ren, 2023), and the Municipal Climate Change Vulnerability Indicators List (VT ANR, 2025). The tools reflect data acquired from 2010 and 2020. The indicators used in the VVI were selected given peer reviewed literature, principal components analysis, and validation from the advisory board. Data are aggregated by town. There are no planned updates to this dataset, or maintenance activities.
