Dataset Overview
This dataset contains a normalized version of species-specific landscape connectivity rasters across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine: American black bear, American marten, bobcat, coyote, fisher, moose, raccoon, red fox, striped skunk, and white-tailed deer. We integrated landscape resistance and species occurrence data to model and map wildlife connectivity across the study region using the Omniscape program (McRae et al. 2016; Landau et al. 2021). Resulting normalized current maps represent a normalized view of wildlife movement as the flow of electricity in a circuit, with more concentrated movement flow having higher levels (amps) of electrical current density, and less concentrated movement flow having lower levels of electrical current density. These normalized maps are broken into four classes of flow: impeded (1), diffuse (2), intensified (3), and channelized (4).
