Dean of Students

David Nestor has served as the Dean of Students at UVM since 2000. In his role, he works closely with staff who are addressing students with particularly challenging circumstances. He oversees the CARE Program, the Center for Student Conduct, and the Office of Student & Community Relations. Throughout his years at UVM, he has played a pivotal role in the implementation/creation of infrastructures and systems that require collaborative relationships across student affairs and the institution. His favorite aspect of the UVM community is the broad passion and commitment of students, staff, and faculty to constantly improve the University.

David is a longtime Burlington resident, originally from the Midwest. He studied at Indiana University. He is a proud parent to daughter Zoe and to sons (and UVM alums!) Luke and Sam.
