Dr. Narges Ahmadnia (she/her) graduated with a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UVM in 2026. Her PhD dissertation research with Dr. Greg Rowangould examined how factors such as gasoline price, vehicle energy efficiency and built-environment characteristics impact travel behavior in rural areas; she has also conducted research on housing location satisfaction in rural areas of Vermont. Dr. Ahmadnia joined the TRC as a postdoctoral scholar, where she is working on the potential of smart growth in rural areas of the United States by examining housing location satisfaction and the role of built-environment characteristics in supporting sustainable transportation and policy evaluation.
