Faculty in Transportation Systems Engineering: Associate or Assistant Professor
Job Description: The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Vermont (UVM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Transportation Systems Engineering for Fall 2019. The position will be filled at the Associate Professor or Assistant Professor level. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering or a related field. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching at the graduate level in their area of expertise and at the undergraduate level in transportation design, traffic engineering, and demand modeling. Candidates with a proven record of scholarly activities in all areas of transportation systems engineering are welcome to apply. Of particular interest is research expertise in system resiliency, data science and “big data”, network modeling, travel behavior, or spatial analysis. The faculty member will be expected to maintain an active program of externally-funded research. An interest in serving a faculty leadership role for the UVM Transportation Research Center is important for this position and thus some equivalent combination of faculty experience and/or leadership roles is an asset. The ability to acquire professional licensure is desired.
