I'm a Student
All students at the University are required to have CATcard. We have gone fully digital! Plastic CATcards are a thing of the past and will not be automatically printed. In an effort to be more environmentally friendly we are requiring students to utilize a DIGITAL CATcard credential. Be sure to upload a photo and a government issued ID.
UVM was one of the first schools in the country to allow the university ID to be stored in the Apple or Google Wallet. We are a one-card/credential campus — all campus amenities are serviced via the one UVM CATcard. This card/credential provides you access to your privileges, meal plans, door access and the UVM debit account known as CAT$cratch. If for some reason you have difficulty installing/utilizing the mobile credential please reach out to us at CATCARD@uvm.edu, or call us during business hours at 802-656-4509. We will still issue a plastic ID badge upon request for off-campus/bus use.
When utilizing your CATcard on campus you do not need to open any apps or your digital wallet. From a dark screen Apple users can present the top rear of the phone to the reader and if you have access to a particular door or have funds in CAT$cratch or a Meal Plan your phone will do the rest. You can see your card image display briefly as you hold your phone to the reader. Android users must wake their phone up and present the middle rear of the phone to the reader for the digital CATcard to work. If you require any troubleshooting with your phone please contact CATcard or the Tech Team.
