Full-Time Lecturer & Production Manager

Sara Nelson is a scenic designer, props designer, and scenic artist who has worked with theaters including The Montana Repertory Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, Rising Circle Theater Collective, and New York City based F*lt Club, where she was nominated for a New York Innovative Theater Award for scenic design. Sara has previously taught at Adelphi University and Northern Vermont University. Classes include scenic design, scenic painting, props design and construction, stagecraft and stage-management. In addition to teaching, much of her work focuses on mentoring students through the design and production process. At Adelphi University, Sara also served as the production manager for their black box season and student productions.

Her most recent works and interest are in new works and devised theater and exploring artistic collaborations with other arts disciplines.

Sara is a member of USITT and has also presented work on collaboration and the creative process for the Association for Theatre in Higher Education.
