UVM ushers in the fall season with the annual Homecoming and Family Weekend, Friday-Sunday, October 7-9, 2005. Except as noted below, a $20 per family registration fee covers admission to most of the weekend's events and includes a button that entitles the wearer to surprise discounts and giveaways at various locations around campus and in downtown Burlington, admission to open classes on Thursday and Friday, and complimentary admission to the Fleming Museum all weekend. Among this year's highlights: Friday, October 7 - (and all weekend): New Turf/Studies in Locomotion - Robert Hull Fleming Museum This fall, the Fleming Museum presents two exciting exhibitions: New Turf, which explores fresh and diverse approaches to abstracted landscape, and Eadweard Muybridge: Studies in Locomotion, featuring a selection of Muybridge's groundbreaking stop-action photographs of humans and animals in motion. Complimentary admission for all alumni, parents, and students and those wearing a Homecoming button. - The Annual UVM Victory Club Fall Foliage Golf Classic at the Vermont National Country Club. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. $175 per person includes lunch, giveaway, and greens fee. - All day-Open Classes. The real estate sector provides a wide array of career options. Panels of accomplished real estate professionals will speak on how they have built their careers in real estate. Three concurrent panels will run from 10 to 11:45 a.m. and from 1:45 to 3:30 p.m. - World Wide Wiz: Become an Internet Expert, 2-3 p.m., Bailey/Howe Library Instruction Center (main floor). Do you sometimes find yourself spending hours on the Internet trying to find information? Would you like to know more about how to locate the best online resources? Learn how to maximize your research and get the most out of popular search tools such as Google. A member of the Bailey/Howe Library's professional reference team will demonstrate tricks of the trade.
