As our Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program becomes more nationally recognized, opportunities to help shape the future of the profession arise. Today the students filled the Grossman School computer lab to take part in the AICPA field testing for the new uniform CPA exam.

The AICPA describes the field testing as: “All new content and item types (that is, simulations and any new response types) must be field tested, or tried out, before they can be included in the operational CPA exam.”

By field testing the exam, the students provide critical information to the AICPA as it works to “develop a more robust and fair licensing exam.” Both the AICPA and MAcc faculty believe taking part in the field testing is a great opportunity for our students. They get a sneak peak at the possible new exam formats, gain experience using the online navigation system, and could see actual questions that will be used in future exams.

The MAcc program takes pride in the past success of its students on the CPA exam. Taking part in the field test will help motivate current students to fully prepare to take the exam following their graduation from the MAcc program.
