Accountants play a vital role in keeping businesses large and small operating, as any operation knows they need knowledgeable experts to interpret and explain what is happening with the funds the business operates with. As financial problem solvers, accountants also have to fully verify and understand the dollars the business is taking in, using and spending.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as of 2019, more than 1.4 million accountants and auditors were employed in various organizations or government agencies in the U.S., and is one profession that is relatively recession proof.
With that backdrop and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) Candidate Performance on the Uniform 2019 CPA Exam 2019 Edition arrival, and once again UVM’s pass rates are well above average.
The University of Vermont's Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program in the Grossman School of Business, is listed among the top 10% of institutions (with 10 or more candidates) in the U.S. for its pass rate on the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) exam in the latest rankings.
Our First-Time all programs among schools with 10 or more candidates places UVM at 56th place out of 758 schools (top 7.3%).
UVM has now ranked in the top 10% of US schools for the past 8 consecutive years, and in the top 40 of mid-size schools for the past 9 consecutive years.
The MAcc program is designed to help individuals develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, and build professional fluency with accounting, auditing, taxation, and regulatory issues, helping candidates meet the 150 credit hour requirements for CPA certification and achieve success in the field.
