Etiquette Event Please and thank you's are a must at any meal, but do you know the proper way to pass the salad dressing at a business dinner? "There's a lot to learn," said Andrew Kleppe, a Senior Business student concentrating in Marketing. Over 100 Business Administration majors learned first-hand the do's and don'ts of dining at a Business meal. That includes knowing where to place your napkin, how to hold your fork and knife, and the right way to eat a dinner roll. This Etiquette event was offered free of charge to all Business Administration students. The goal was to help give Business students a competitive edge when it comes to interviews. "We believe the Etiquette Event is important for students so they can have a better understanding of how to communicate with employers, how to network, how to be more professional, all the tips you really don't think about," said Jennifer Fath, an Enrollment Specialist at the School of Business Administration. "I think it's very important, I was excited when I heard about this, the Etiquette Dinner, and so far everything that I have learned is more than I expected," Kleppe said. "The college graduate market is flooded right now with students who are graduating and they're competing against a lot of other individuals who have skills who maybe are currently unemployed," Fath said. "Events like this are important to give those students, our students, an extra edge." "I thought it was very worthwhile, I learned not to say umm, I'm sure that's something everybody took away from this, but overall, little things like not having the sole of my shoe showing because I honestly was sitting with my shoe up," Kleppe said.
