'Teachers of the Year' Honored at Commencement

Dean Sharma congratulates Thomas Chittenden on being named "Undergraduate Teacher of the Year"

Every year, two members of the School of Business Administration's faculty are awarded "Teacher of the Year" by the graduating class.  On Sunday, Professor Tom Noordewier was honored with the graduate award, Thomas Chittenden was given the undergraduate award.

"He truly pushes you to the next step, the world post-graduation," said Andrew Kaufman about Thomas Chittenden, a full-time lecture at the School of Business Administration.  "His relationships with students allows him to give sound advice to help guide them to their desired career path."

Elena Varavka, a 2012 MBA graduate, presented Professor Thomas Noordewier with the Graduate Teacher of the Year award.

"Students recall that he is always willing to help, personally in my opinion, he is a professor who thinks outside the box and is able to look at a subject matter from different and very interesting perspectives," she told the crowd of Professor Noordewier.

Professor Noordewier teaches BSAD 150-Marketing Management. He joined the School in 1990 and is currently the Associate Dean for the Undergraduate Program.

Thomas Chittenden teaches BSAD 40- Information and Technology Management. He also coached the School of Business Administration team at the the John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition this year.
