  1. Shop the Church Street Marketplace
  2. Grab breakfast at the Burlington Farmers Market (Try a scallion pancake from Green Mountain Potstickers)
  3. Eat a creemee (That’s Vermont for soft serve; maple is the best flavor)
  4. Walk or bike the 8-mile path along Lake Champlain
  5. See international talent at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts
  6. Visit the world’s tallest filing cabinet
  7. Spend a lake day at Oakledge or North Beach
  8. Take in an art exhibit at the Firehouse Gallery

Getting Around the City

Burlington’s size makes it easy to get around no matter which mode of transportation you pick.

Shuttle: UVM’s free CATS shuttle gets you from A to B on-campus, and provides a safe and convenient connection to downtown.

Walk: UVM is just a 10-minute walk to the bustling downtown area.  

Bus: Green Mountain Transit (GMT) has routes throughout the city and beyond. As a UVM student, you can ride GMT services for free.

Bike: Use the Bird Bikeshare app, or bring your own.
