Applications received after deadlines will be considered on a space-available basis. Other supplemental materials to complete the application should arrive by this priority completion deadline. Applications completed after this date are not guaranteed a decision by the posted decision release date.
Application Deadlines
Early Action
Students who apply under Early Action will receive an admissions decision in late December, much earlier than the regular Decision notification date of early March. Early action is a non-binding application plan: admitted students will have until May 1st to enroll.

Need-Based Financial Aid
For an on-time aid offer and consideration for all available sources of financial aid, submit the CSS Profile (opens on October 1, 2024) by the priority deadline of November 15, 2024 and the FAFSA (opens on or before December 1, 2024) as soon as possible once available.
Early Decision I
Students who apply under Early Decision I are making a commitment to UVM as a first-choice institution and can expect to receive an admissions decision by December 2*. Early Decision is a binding application, and admitted students are expected to withdraw any other pending applications and enroll typically four weeks after receiving an admissions decision. The required Early Decision Agreement is signed by the student, parent/guardian, and college counselor.

*Exceptions to the Early Decision Agreement:
- Merit scholarships will be awarded to eligible Early Decision applicants at the time of admissions decision.
- If you are admitted to a major that was not your primary choice as listed on your application, you will not be bound by the Early Decision Agreement. However, you will be expected to accept or decline your offer within the Early Decision deadline.
- If your Early Decision I application was deferred for consideration during the regular admissions cycle, you are no longer bound by the Early Decision Agreement. In that case, you will be considered for admission after submitting your mid-year grades. You will be notified of a final non-binding admission decision in late March.
Early Decision II
Students who apply under Early Decision II are making a commitment to UVM as a first-choice institution and can expect to receive an admissions decision by mid-February*. Early Decision II is a binding application, and admitted students are expected to withdraw any other pending applications and enroll typically soon after receiving an admissions decision. The required Early Decision Agreement is signed by the student, parent/guardian, and college counselor.
