Mindfulness is a way of being in your life: fully present in mind and body, paying attention. Practicing Mindfulness can put us more directly and more frequently in contact with our innate capacity for being calm, stable and aware. Many people use Mindfulness practices to cope with stress, alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, and to help manage chronic pain.
Tuesdays, 12:10 to 12:45 p.m., Old Mill Annex, Room 303A
Free - No Pre-Registration Required
This popular weekly series is open to people of all levels of familiarity and experience with Mindfulness. Curiosity is as good a reason as any for attending. Information and instruction will be available for newcomers.
Sessions are offered free of charge. No special clothing or equipment is necessary. Chair seating will be used throughout sessions. Time will be made at the beginning and end of each session to ask and answer questions, and to exchange feedback about our shared experience.

Weekly Mindfulness Meditation Groups are free and open to everyone - students, staff, faculty, the community. All groups meet in the meditation room on the third floor of the Allen House (corner of Main and S. Prospect). There is no need to sign up in advance, and no commitment to come on an ongoing basis. Beginners are always welcome, and meditation instruction will be provided. The group includes silent and/or guided sitting meditation and group sharing/discussion. Occasionally, other mindfulness practices, such as walking meditation and lovingkindness meditation, will be included.
All are welcome to use the meditation room at the Center for Cultural Pluralism, Allen House, 3rd floor (corner of Main and S. Prospect Streets) during business hours. We ask that you return cushions and other supplies neatly to the alcove. For additional information on any of these groups, call (802) 656-3340, e-mail Miv London or visit the UVM Mindfulness Practice Center.
