- By Glenn Rogers
Burlington--Registrations are still being accepted for the 2013 University of Vermont (UVM) Extension Income Tax Schools to be held at the Champlain Valley Exposition, Essex Junction, Nov.6-7 and the Killington Grand Resort Conference Center, Killington, Nov. 13-14.
The two-day schools are designed to provide tax practitioners, accountants and other professional tax preparers with the latest information and updates on tax legislation, regulations and rulings that will affect tax preparation for 2013. Sessions will cover new Vermont income tax rules and regulations, the state's role with the Affordable Care Act and its tax implications, tax practice ethics, Schedule E reporting, divorce tax issues, education savings plans and taxation issues and changes in state and federal tax laws, among a wealth of other topics.
The registration fee is $339 or $439 if received within five days of the event. The fee covers all sessions, lunches and refreshments and course materials including the 2013 National Income Tax Workbook and a CD containing more than 7,000 pages of indexed and linked information from current and past workbooks. An optional bonus session on ethical tax practices, focusing on record retention, consents, data security and other technologies used in tax practices, will be offered for an additional $25.
