All eligible UVM employees can ride fare free using the app’s ticketing feature.
Employees MUST Opt-In to the program to continue getting free GMT bus fares. Once you complete the opt-in you will receive an email from parking@uvm.edu within 5 business days. Please do not download the Ride Ready app until you receive this email confirming you are enrolled.
Once you have completed your Opt-In form and received a confirmation email from parking@uvm.edu, you can download the Ride Ready App. Please make sure you sign up with your UVM NetID email (example: jdoe3342@uvm.edu NOT jane.doe@uvm.edu). Please create a Ride Ready password that does not match your UVM NetID password. |

Once you have completed these steps, visit Green Mountain Transit's website for how to use the Ride Ready app on the bus.
If you plan to ride the bus, we encourage you to opt-in to the new system as soon as possible. While employees can currently ride the bus for free by showing a UVM ID card or digital CATCard on their smartphone, GMT bus drivers will stop accepting riders "flashing” a physical or virtual CatCard at midnight on November 23, which is the Sunday before Thanksgiving Recess.
