BIO

Caylin provides strategic leadership for the university’s sustainability goals and initiatives. She leads implementation of UVM’s Comprehensive Sustainability Plan (CSP), which has a headline goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and sets additional targets across operations, governance, people, research and learning.

Since joining the Office of Sustainability in 2017, Caylin has held a range of roles supporting the university’s sustainability leadership. She has led multiple AASHE STARS submissions, each earning the University a Gold rating, and was instrumental in development of the Facilities Sustainability Plan, precursor to the CSP. She has improved the effectiveness of longstanding programs like the Sustainable Campus Fund and Eco-Reps, launched an employee ambassador program and helped create the Sustainable Solutions Lab. Previously, Caylin served as UVM Dining’s first sustainability manager, where she developed waste reduction and procurement strategies that continue to earn national recognition.

Caylin earned both a B.S. in Environmental Studies and an M.S. in Natural Resources from the Rubenstein School. Her experiences as a UVM student shaped her career‑long commitment to advancing campus sustainability. Outside of work, Caylin enjoys time in the mountains, whether on her bike or skis.
