Campus Sustainability Series

Back by popular demand, sustainability staff from across campus are joining together to offer the Campus Sustainability Series with Professional Development & Training again this fall. All sessions except the walking tour are online via Teams. The series is open to all faculty and staff. Those who attend all five sessions will receive a certificate of series completion. Participants are also welcome to join just the sessions that interest them. CAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY WALKING TOUR
October 11th, 11am-1pm. Meet in DC Jost Foundation Rm. Rain date Oct 18th in Rosa Parks Rm.
See points of interest including transportation options, waste reduction and disposal, food sourcing, green building and energy.

UNDERSTANDING THE COMPREHENSIVE SUSTAINABILITY PLAN
October 26th, 1-2pm
Learn about the short and long term goals in this plan and how it will guide the institution over the next ten years and beyond to create a better world through responsible stewardship of all of our resources.

INTRO TO INTERSECTIONAL ENVIRONMENTALISM
November 8th, 2-3pm
This session outlines the systemic root causes that many social and environmental issues share. Presenters will establish a common language and understanding by introducing the concepts of environmental racism, climate justice and intersectional environmentalism.

HOW TO MAKE THAT PURCHASE MORE SUSTAINABLY
November 13th, 2-3pm
Purchasing Services has many policies and resources available to improve the sustainability of University purchases. This session will review these and what attributes to consider when selecting items.

INVESTING WITH YOUR VALUES
December 4th, 2-3:30pm
Learn about socially and environmentally responsible investing options and how to manage your 403b and other investments in a way that aligns with your values.
