Thanksgiving Recess is Nov. 25-Nov. 29, shortly followed by the mid-year holiday break December 16-January 17, 2023. UVM is offering several ways to make holiday journeys a little easier, including a new Student Ride Sharing Board managed by the UVM Eco-Reps. Carpooling with friends or classmates can be an efficient, flexible and cheap way to travel—there’s a good chance you’ll find someone is already going your way. All you need is a UVM ID to participate.
If you are driving home with empty seats, you can post travel details on the ride board and “green” your commute. Drivers who post seats by Nov. 16 get entered into a raffle for a $20 gift certificate to a local business of their choice.
Along with major destinations, busses and trains traveling from the Burlington area can connect you to smaller cities like Albany, Springfield, Concord, and Mount Laurel. Check out all of the options on our Long Distance Travel Page. It’s easy to get from campus to a long-distance transit providers by hopping on a UVM shuttle. The university runs shuttles service to and from stations at the beginning and end of each break.
