The Office of Sustainability (OoS) has made arrangements for all UVM students, faculty and staff to receive FREE unlimited registration access to this year's Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education. This virtual conference -- taking place October 20th-22nd-- includes three full days of "live" content and networking, plus thirty days of "on-demand" content access afterwards.
The conference theme is "Mobilizing for a Just Transition" and keynote speakers include best-selling authors Ibram X. Kendi and Robin Wall Kimmerer and many other higher ed and community leaders.
There are hundreds of educational sessions and live discussion groups to select from on topics ranging from: Campus Operations; Racial Equity & Social Justice; Student Organizing & Activism; Teaching & Learning; Governance & Administration; and more.
"Humanity faces a series of intensifying and interrelated social and ecological crises. Solving these crises requires a holistic transformation: a shift from an extractive economy to a regenerative economy. With a theme of “Mobilizing for a Just Transition,” this year’s Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education will focus on centering justice within this transformation and ensuring that it leaves no one behind."
HOW TO REGISTER
Registration takes less than 5 minutes.
Go to the Conference Website to register yourself as an Attendee using your uvm.edu email address. On the Submit Payment page, apply the discount code: UVMEDU093020 and registration fee drops to $0. You will receive a confirmation email and unique Confirmation Number.
Then, save the dates (Oct 20-22) and plan to connect and attend. Be sure to browse through all the conference offerings. You can even build out your own virtual conference schedule using your Confirmation Number.
