Now is an important time to begin discussion about rivers, floodplains, and what’s ahead! FEMA is updating the Flood Insurance Rate Maps across Vermont. Towns participating in the National Flood Insurance Program may need to update their bylaws before the new maps become official.

How do we use information to avoid damage to homes, businesses, and town services? Flooding does not have to be a disaster if we plan for it! In this webinar, attendees will learn about the Vermont Emergency Relief and Assistance Fund and how to plan for flood resilience. Learn more at Get Ready for New FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps.

This webinar is the second of a series hosted by Lake Champlain Sea Grant to help municipal officials and other community leaders adapt and recover from extreme weather events such as flooding.
