Raise the Blade: Enter to Win a Free Electric Lawn Mower!

Date/Time:
Tuesday, October 18, 2022 - 12:00am

Numerous educational organizations in the Lake Champlain basin are partnering on a campaign to encourage home and business owners and local communities to "raise the blade" on their lawnmowers to a minimum of 3 inches in height to protect water quality. In addition, no more than 1/3 of the grass blades' length should be cut in any one mowing session and clippings should be left to decompose in place. Learn more at lawntolake.org.

Enter your contact information for a chance to win an electric mulching mower. Drawing will be held October 18, 2022 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Clean Water Act.

In addition, please share a photo of you or someone at your property implementing this best practice by emailing it to seagrant [at] uvm.edu or by posting it to Twitter and tagging @lakechamp and using the hashtag #raisetheblade.

To enter, you must be 18 years of age or older and must live within the Lake Champlain basin. If you aren't sure, look at the map posted here to find your town.
